EDI-402 Laohu (aka Laohu-class) is a MS space carrier used by the Human Reform League and later by Katharon in season 1-2 of Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Loahu is a multi-purpose transport vessel of the Human Reform League. With three containers spaced evenly around its body to form a cylinder, this ship is capable of carrying up to 12 Mobile Suits. Intended primarily for transport, it only equips low-grade weaponry such as missiles. The bridge is a shuttle, and the container section and the bridge section can be separated. An offensive tactic was to use the separated container as a mass projectile and crash it into enemy units.
Weapon Reinforcement Type[]
This is a modified and armed version of the former Laohu-class transport ship of the Human Reform League. A linear cannon has been added to the front of each container. The ship is owned by the anti-federation organization Katharon, and appears during the Battle of Memento Mori. By 2314 the Laohu-class deployed by ESF Forces has replaced the linear cannons with laser cannons.

- The Laohu is equipped with three groups of 20-tube missile launchers mounted in front of each container. By 2314 the Laohu equips GN Missiles.

- Equipped on the front of each container of Katharon's Weapon Reinforcement Type.

- Equipped on the front of each container of the ESF Forces's Weapon Reinforcement Type.
History[]
Four Laohu were used by Sergei Smirnov during his mission in space to capture a Gundam. He separated the Laohu into two groups, two of which were decoys that were sent to attack the Gundam's carrier (CBS-70 Ptolemaios). The other two were set up to block the carrier's escape should it try to run, but were actually bait to draw out a Gundam. The mission ended in failure and all the Laohu were destroyed.
By 2312 any Laohu that was still in existence was used by Katharon as the Earth Sphere Federation Forces and the A-Laws had ceased using the older transports in favor of new battleships that can support GN mobile suits however they were still sighted alongside Baikal-class cruisers.
In 2314 the Laohu would be fielded again by the Earth Sphere Federation Forces due to the serious threat the ELS posed to the Earth.
