The Dianthus is a Gunpla appearing in the video game Gundam Breaker Mobile.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

A custom Gunpla utilizing parts from the GX-9900-DV Gundam X Divider and GAT-X105+AQM/E-X01 Aile Strike Gundam. It was built and piloted by Sana Miyama.

Armaments[]

  • "Armor Schneider" Combat Knife
Stored in the Dianthus's side skirt armor are a pair of folding "Armor Schneider" combat knives, both are used in conjunction the the "Rapid Thrust" EX Skill.
  • 57mm High-energy Beam Rifle
The same portable firearm as used by the Aile Strike Gundam.
  • Large Beam Sword
A pair of high power beam swords are stored in the backpack, used in conjunction the the "Twist Buster" EX Skill.
  • Beam Saber
A standard beam saber which is handheld in use. It is the same type used by the Aile Strike Gundam.
  • Divider
A long shield with thrusters on both ends that also functions as a ranged weapon. The front of the Divider can split open along its vertical axis, revealing six sets of triple beam cannons that are collectively referred to as the "Harmonica Cannon." The Dianthus only deploys with the Divider when faced as an opponent; when taken in a support role it deploys without a shield.

Special Attacks[]

  • Burst Resurrection
A healing skill exclusive to the Support NPC version.

History[]

A Gunpla customized by Sana during her activities with the Soukai Academy Gunpla Club. It was her Gunpla of choice at the time that Rindo Kuzunoha quit the club, taking most of its members with her, and leaving the club's very survival in doubt.

Dianthus saw action in Gunpla battles as Sana tried to hold the Gunpla Club together, chiefly providing support to Touma Aizen's Kaiser Buster and the initial kitbashes of her talented new recruit, whom she met by chance at a Gunpla Guerrilla Battle tournament. Together at the Gunpla Guerrilla Battle tournament they would win the powerful Gundam Artemis which, despite practicing with it, Sana found difficult to control. After Sana attempted to use the Artemis as a secret weapon in the finals of the Interhigh Preliminary Tournament's team division, causing the Soukai team to take an early loss, she decided to stick with her Dianthus and passed the Artemis on to the club's new recruit.

When Touma's dream of becoming a pro-fighter to support his family sparked a rivalry with Sana's recruit, he quit the Soukai Gunpla club after receiving an offer to transfer schools in his pursuit of sponsorship. Sana patched things up with Rindo, as did Touma behind the scenes, and several former Gunpla club members rejoined in time for the inter-high tournament. Together, Artemis, Dianthus, and Rindo's Enzian made it to the finals over several challenging rival schools to meet Touma's new school, Gokusode High, in the finals, though Touma was not competing in the team division. An underhanded rules change disqualification tactic from Gokusode High's coach, Okada, sidelined Rindo's Enzian for having sponsor branding, but the Artemis and Dianthus still managed to carry the team to victory.

After the tournament, Rindo took the team on a Gunpla training camp at a beachside resort owned by one of her sponsors. By this time, Sana was developing feelings for the club's star fighter, and worrying that her combat skills weren't keeping up with her teammates. Though reluctant, she wanted to move beyond the Dianthus to build a new, original Gunpla which better fit her personality. A building contest would be held at a Beach Hut near the resort, but when Sana arrived the only model kit they had left in stock was a Mobile Kapool, which Sana would customize into the Sanakapool.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • The Dianthus is named after the flower genus Dianthus.
  • In Gundam Breaker Mobile, players can closely replicate this build by utilizing parts from the base Gunpla, and either the corresponding "Dianthus" Base Color originally sold in the "Unseen Assault" event shop, and later added to the event shop permanently, or it could be recreated using the Custom Color feature. However, it could not be perfectly replicated due to the limitations of some parts' paint zones.
  • With the advent of 1/100 scale parts, Dianthus was one of only two game originals players could recreate in that scale - the other being the Enzian.
