The Des Moines-class cruiser is a sea battleship in the Cosmic Era timeline.

History

An Earth Alliance Naval Battleship. This ship is a sub-class of the Danilov class cruiser, and is closely related to the Arkansas class cruiser. Both ships have an almost identical hull and slightly different weapons. The Des Moines class cruiser is an anti-surface combat ship, which suggest the reason for its rapid fire cannon on the forward deck used for low angles. The Des Moines being defined as cruiser class, it is proper to assume that rapid fire cannon is aleast 155mm calibre if the classification of main guns still follow the Washington Naval Treaty specifications.
