Daltum (ダルタム Darutamu?) is a character mentioned in Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.[1]
Background Information[]
Daltum was the husband of Iria Solari, team captain of Zeon's Red Wolf Squadron. Before the One Year War, the couple were famous musicians playing concerts together in Side 3 before Solari was called up for military service.[2] Daltum continued to play during the war, and was killed in an E.F.F.'s airstrike on Earth in the summer of U.C. 0079.[1] He is survived by Solari and their young son.
Skills & Abilities[]
As a musician, Daltum's skill is highly regarded by those who know him. According to Alfee Zydos, Daltum was a "great guy, hell of a musician"[1] while Maj. Gen. Yuri Kellerne described Daltum "a briliant musician" with valuable talent just like Solari, and lamented "his death was a great loss".[3]
Legacy[]
After Daltum's death, his widow Solari is seen carrying or wearing his pocket watch with the family photo of him, Solari and their son inserted inside. When Solari decided to stay behind Odessa to cover Maj. Rolph Ronet's convoy to the space port, she gave Daltum's pocket watch to Zydos and entrusted him to give it to her son when he returned to Space.[4]
