Clan Battle (クランバトル Kuran Batoru?), often shortened to Clan-Bat (クラバ Kuraba?) is a form of illegal underground Mobile Suit combat in Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX.[1]
Despite its officially illegal nature, it is actually managed by the Side 6 government in secret[2], and has various major corporations or even government actors (e.g. Earth Federation) participate in the Clan-Bat through shell companies, fronts, and clans, for monetary gains, technological development, and/or political intrigue.
Guidelines[]
- Format: 2-on-2 battles between "clans" using MAV teams, with a time limit of approximately 5 minutes.
- Victory Condition: destroy the opponent machine's head by any means (either by just destroying the head, or destroying enemy's suit)
- Battle Stage: public area, pre-arranged; as such there can be various spaceships and Mobile Workers in the area. Minovsky particles will be dispersed in advance on the designated battle stage to hide it; however, as soon as the livestream starts, MPs will tend to rush in to disperse the fight.
- Typically outside of the colony, but inside colony battles can be arranged.
- In fights that take place outside of colonies, it is recommended to only leave the airlock open for 5 seconds so it is not recorded in the colony's admin log; this also designate the launch window duration.
- Participants are forbidden from using Mobile Armors.[2]
- The winner will earn a high amount of prize money; however, if one withdraws before the battle starts, there is a hefty penalty fee as well.[3]
