The Campaign Against Logos is a conflict of the Second Alliance-PLANT War, featured in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.

Prelude[]

Despite the Junius Treaty bringing about a tenuous peace between the Earth Alliance and PLANT, the treaty failed to curb the radical elements in both factions, in particular Blue Cosmos, the de facto leader of the Earth Alliance. Despite Muruta Azrael's death at the end of the First Alliance-PLANT War, Lord Djibril easily took over, using the "Break The World" Incident to kickstart the Second Alliance-PLANT War. However, the Earth Alliance proved to be much more brutal at the start, strong-arming various countries into joining the Earth Alliance and holding survivors and victims of the colony drop hostage. This culminated in the Battle of Berlin, which saw the GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam rampaging across Eurasia in retaliation for their sympathetic leading towards the PLANTs.

With the Destroy Crisis stopped, PLANT Supreme Chairman Gilbert Durandal made a speech across both Earth and the PLANTs revealing a terrible truth: Blue Cosmos is nothing more than a cat's paw for the real movers and shakers, the organization known as Logos. A secret society of industrialists and defense contractors, they used Blue Cosmos as a means to strike up discord and strife for profit, being behind Blue Cosmos' genocidal campaign against the Coordinator population.

The Campaign[]

The speech brought up the names and locations of those within Logos but urged a more peaceful solution to what was going on. Instead, the information lead to a revolution. Not only did ZAFT forces seek to hunt down the members, they were joined by resistance fighters, normal citizens who grew tired of the rampant war, and even Earth Alliance soldiers who were outraged over the revelation and that they were lied to. These fighters confronted various Logos members, shooting or beating them in retaliation for their suffering, resulting in the deaths of Adam Vermilyea, Duncan Luis Mockelberg, Graham Nelleis, and Celestine Groht.[1][2]

Aftermath[]

Fearing for their lives, the surviving members of Logos went into hiding, escaping to Heaven's Base to prepare for their final stand against ZAFT. However, Durandal wouldn't focus on Logos just yet, instead turning his attention to the crew of the Archangel, preparing for "Operation Angel Down".[3]
