The Benerit Group (ベネリットグループ? Beneritto Gurūpu) are the main antagonists in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury. It is a major business conglomerate composed of Spacian mobile suit manufacturers.
The group was disbanded following the Quiet Zero Incident, with its new president, Miorine Rembran, selling off the organization's assets to Earth.
Activities[]
Mobile Suit Manufacturing[]
The largest members of the Benerit Group all produce mobile suits, following regulations set by the Mobile Suit Development Council.
Incubation Party[]
War Partitioning[]
The Benerit Group funds small conflicts and proxy wars on Earth (for example, by selling arms and mobile weapons to various factions), keeping them at war and Earth divided (partitioned) against the Benerit Group's economic supremacy. These forever wars are a constant source of income.
History[]
As of A.S. 122, the Benerit Group is led by President Delling Rembran and consists of 157 member corporations, including: Grassley Defense Systems, Jeturk Heavy Machinery, Peil Technologies, and Shin Sei Development Corporation. The more profitable and successful a member corporation is, the more influence it wields within the group, with the top three performers given special recognition. Corporations that fail to turn a profit for too many quarters, such as Parneo Company, are denied access to the group's pool of funds and face potential ruin.
The Asticassia School of Technology, a leading mobile suit training academy, is run by the Benerit Group.
The group also wields substantial authority on Earth and has been known to deploy mobile suits to quell Earthian protests against Spacian exploitation.

Notes & Trivia[]
- In early sources prior to the release of the anime (e.g. the official synopsis and Miorine's profile on Gundam.Info), the official English name was spelled Beneritt with two t's. When Delling's profile was added to Gundam.Info, the spelling changed to Benerit with one t. The on-screen text in The Witch and the Bride uses the latter spelling.
