The Battle of Yggdrasil is a conflict of the First Alliance-PLANT War, featured in the Cosmic Era.
Prelude[]
After the destruction of Junius Seven, the First Alliance-PLANT War officially started, and ZAFT began to undertake offensive actions against the Earth Alliance in locations far away from the PLANT homeland. The first target of ZAFT's new strategy was the space station Yggdrasil, located in Lagrange Point 1 and served as the bridgehead for Luna's Alliance forces.
Several days after the Bloody Valentine Incident, a ZAFT task force equipped with the new Neutron Jammers headed toward the station.
The Battle[]
On February 22nd, C.E. 70, the battle of Yggdrasil commenced. The Earth Alliance committed its 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Space Fleets to defend the station from ZAFT incursion, while ZAFT deploy the N-Jammers for the first time in combat. The resulting battle between the two sides was fierce as both forces were evenly matched. During the battle, Rau Le Creuset managed to destroy 37 Moebius mobile armors and 6 warships. Eventually, the Yggdrasil station itself was destroyed and its ruins become part of the debris belt.
Aftermath[]
With the destruction of the space station, The Earth Alliance lost an important bridgehead and suffered heavy casualties. The Alliance's 1st and 2nd fleet did not appear in any other battles after this. However, it was a pyrrhic victory for ZAFT, as they also suffered heavy losses.
For his accomplishment during the battle, Rau Le Creuset was awarded the Order of the Nebula.
