Astonaige Medoz (アストナージ・メドッソ?) is a character who appears in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ and Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack.

As the chief mechanic aboard the Argama, he and his hard-working crew somehow manage to keep the ship's battered mobile suits in good working order. He also has a keen interest in mobile suit technology and collaborated with Kamille Bidan on designing and upgrading the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam.[1]
History[]
Astonaige was a mechanic with the Anti Earth Union Group. He served on the Argama throughout the Gryps War and the First Neo Zeon War, giving advice to both Kamille and Judau Ashta.[2]
During the Second Neo Zeon War, he belongs to the Londo Bell squadron of the 13th Independent Fleet of the Earth Federation Forces, and is the chief mechanic on the flagship Ra Cailum. He continues to be a close friend of Colonel Bright Noa and Captain Amuro Ray, whom he has known since his AEUG days. He was also in love with Lieutenant Kayra Su of the MS squadron, but she was killed in action during a mission and predeceased him. Eventually, when he goes out on deck to stop Chan Agi, who is about to launch in the badly damaged RGZ-91 Re-GZ, he is hit by a stray beam bullet and loses his life.[3]
