The Anchor V3 (aka Anchor Version 3) is a custom mobile suit and upgraded form of the Anchor V2 that appears in the manga series Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Dust. The unit is piloted by Ash King.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Anchor V3 is the upgraded form of the Anchor V2, with the addition of the "V3 Thruster" Minovsky Drive unit on the back. The "V3 Thruster" was originally designed by Font Bow and Frank Oz, and although the relationship with Cyclops was severed and production seemed to be stalled, it was completed by the efforts of Frank Oz using spare parts of the Blanc Phantom.
Armaments[]
- Head Cutter
- A cutter mounted on the head. It rotates at high speed and is used for head-butting attacks. When heat is dissipated, it transforms into a V-shape to form a Gundam-like head silhouette.
- Rotating Shield
- A defensive armament connected to the left arm, it can be used as an offensive weapon by rotating the shield at high speeds.
- I-Field
- Equipment added to the Rotating Shield during the execution of the "Dust Plan".
- Heat Ceramic Bullet
- Two powerful shots stored in the chest, they have high penetrating power.
- Ikarimaru
- A large beam saber with an anchor shape. It is meant for 40 meter tall mobile suits, such as the Murasame which was its intended user, but eventually fell into the hands of Ash King. As the Ikarimaru has built-in thrusters, even a smaller mobile suit like the Anchor can use it, but the operational time is greatly shortened due to the lower generator output. The wire has been changed to a thick and durable one, and a drum for storing the wire has been added to the rear of the right shoulder to store it. This is because the previous wire drum on the right arm is out of volume. Not only the strength of the wire, but also the length has been extended, and the attack radius reaches up to 60 m.
- Moby Dick Buster
- A large weapon for anti-mobile armor warfare consists of a harpoon with a wire and a rifle. The harpoon can deliver an electric current by piercing the target. While the rifle lacks rapid fire capabilities, it has high power per shot, and it has a blade under the barrel.
Special Equipment & Features[]
- V3 Thruster
- The V3 Thruster unit is a Minovsky Drive unit mounted on the back. When in use, the unit expands into an X shape and produces "Phantom Light". Compared to the Blanc Phantom, there are not as many I-Field generation points for control, so the Wings of Light are spread like a flame similar to the EMS-TC02 Phantom Gundam. The unit can be used for a maximum of 15 minutes, and while the propulsion is inferior to that of the Blanc Phantom, it is comparable to the Phantom Gundam's rollout capabilities.
