Ambat is a space fortress that appears in the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam AGE.

Overview

An Earth Federation Forces space fortress that was used in past wars and then discarded due to its age. According to the novelization, it is said to be a modified version of an asteroid that was towed from the asteroid belt to Lagrange 2 during the Colony Nation War, and is said to have a robustness that cannot be easily destroyed by external attacks.

As its name suggests, it is shaped like a bat with its wings spread out, with docks and anti-aircraft guns placed throughout. The UE repurposed it and used it as a strategic base in the Earth Sphere. The base commander is Geera Zoi. The giant mothership Fa Bose and numerous UE MS Gafran and Baqto were deployed, and X-Rounder Desil Galette also belonged to the base.

The interior has been modified by the Vagans, suggesting that the renovation into a frontline base is steadily progressing.

History

In A.G. 115, it was attacked by Diva and the Zalam-Euba Alliance and was destroyed by a self-destruct mechanism. The operation to capture the fortress was called the “Battle of Bat Extermination” in later times because of its name.
