Alphacide is the eleventh episode of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. It was released worldwide on June 18, 2025.
Synopsis[]
Machu’s GQuuuuuuX fights against Nyaan’s GFreD as she tries to rescue the girl of rose. Eventually, guided by Shuji, Machu ventures alone into the heart of Yomagn'tho. There, she meets Char and Kycilia.
Plot[]
Yomagn'tho obliterates A Baoa Qu. Despite Nyaan's unease, she attempts to line up the second shot towards Earth, but discovers that the cannon needs time to recharge. As she does so, she notices the GQuuuuuuX descending into the cannon's core. Shirouzu remarks on the appearance of two Alphaciders. Outside, the battle between Challia and Kycilia's Newtype Forces rages on, with Challia eliminating all but Xavier. When the crew of the Sodon demands an explanation for Challia's hostility, Simus reveals Challia's plans to create a future for Newtypes by killing Kycilia, but Comoli doubts Challia's good intentions.
Amate attacks the GFreD, intending to free the Lalah Sune inside the Rose of Sharon by breaking the GQuuuuuuX's Psycommu limiters. As the two suits clash, Nyaan realizes that Amate must be the pilot and calls out to her. Amate, frustrated that Nyaan would run away and become a weapon of war, throws her to the side and destroys the GQuuuuuuX's installer key with Challia's pistol, unlocking the Omega Psycommu Overdrive system. The GQuuuuuuX manages to pierce the time-freeze shielding protecting the Rose of Sharon and tears off the mechanical arm attaching it to Yomagn'tho, causing a shockwave that throws the GQuuuuuuX and the GFreD into the chamber's walls. As Amate awakens from the impact, she discovers a ghost of Shuji before her, leading her to an unknown destination. As she follows his lead, Nyaan notices Amate and Shuji and pursues them in the GFreD. Challia reveals to Xavier Kycilia's plans to destroy humanity, but Xavier doubts her capaibility.
As Shirouzu passes through the Yomagn'tho's theater chamber, he is confronted by Kycilia, who identifies him as Char Aznable. Kycilia asks Char to join her cause in wiping out the old human race, but Char is uninterested in Kycilia's plans, causing her to take aim at him. Before Kycilia can shoot Char, Amate, lead to a break in the ceiling by Shuji, crashes onto the stage, surprising both Char and Kycilia. The GFreD subsequently breaks into the theater; Char grabs Amate and pulls her into a hole in the floor during the commotion. Disembarking the GFreD, Nyaan demands an explanation from Kycilia for the pain she senses from the Kira-Kira, but Kycilia only claims that Nyaan will obtain true freedom by completing her mission.
Char and Amate take a brief pause at the bottom of the shaft, where Amate recognizes Shuji's scent on him. Char admits that he first met Shuji during his time as Shirouzu, seeing within him a promising young individual worthy of piloting the Red Gundam. While Amate attempts to get her thoughts in order, a Zeknova phenomenon occurs in a nearby chamber, causing the Red Gundam to reappear, as well as causing Char to revert back to his One Year War outfit. Declaring that he must make Lalah "disappear" to stop the chaos, Char boards the Red Gundam and heads to the cannon's core. Amate, concerned by his words, escapes on foot to the GQuuuuuuX. As she passes through the far side of the theater, Kycilia recognizes her and attempts to shoot her, but is interrupted when Nyaan, in a moment of panic, shoots Kycilia in the side with Degwin's pistol to protect Amate. Nyaan, fearing Kycilia's retribution, escapes in the GFreD.
Char enters the core, revealing that the Zeknova phenomenon is the result of the two parallel Alpha Psycommu systems in the Red Gundam and the Elmeth reacting, and that the Yomagn'tho's true purpose is to restore this anomaly by sending the Rose of Sharon back. Before he is able to take action, Amate appears in the GQuuuuuuX and attempts to stop him, believing that he intends to harm Lalah, but her attack is repelled by a mysterious force. An even greater Zeknova begins to emanate from the Rose of Sharon; Comoli discovers that whereas previous Zeknovas involved energy transfer from another universe, this Zeknova involves energy flowing the other direction. Challia remarks to Xavier that the "Kira-Kira" is actually Minovsky Particles flowing in from another universe, maximizing a Newtype's cognitive abilities. Kycilia, recovering from Nyaan's gunshot, claims that she sees a light.
In the Kira-Kira, Char states to Shuji that he must erase Lalah's presence from this universe where she does not belong, despite Shuji's claims that Lalah is trying to protect him. In response, Shuji reveals that he was "sent from the other side to stop this world she created". From the nexus of the Zeknova, a mobile suit clad in shining white emerges from another world.

- On-Air End Card: Shūji Itō
- The aspect of the quantum portal generating an inflow/outflow of Minovsky particles is similar to how the quantum portal works in Star Trek, in that conservation of energy will generate dissipation of additional energy from one universe to another, and failure to account for that can create issues.
- The Green Zeknova's ability to change Char's appearance is similar to Schrödinger possibility field, a type of multiversal energy field which remapped matter into other possibilities from the multiverse. In the case of sentient lifeforms, one could be transformed into a parallel universe variant.
Continuity Notes[]
- The term "Alphacide" first appears in episode 3, when the Pomeranians were investigating the GQuuuuuuX's specifications.
- "Shirouzu" eventually returns to his Char Aznable identity after his reappearance.
- Char and Shuji's dialogue confirms the hints from the previous episode that this Gundam series is not simply following an alternate version of the events of the original Gundam series, but is directly connected to it as part of the shared multiverse.
Callbacks to previous Gundam series[]
- When the Red Gundam reappears, it is in a similar lying pose to the destroyed RX-78-2 Gundam in episode 43 of Gundam.
- Kycilia confronting Char in an empty theater mirrors the scene when Haman Karn confronted his prime counterpart and Paptimus Scirocco in episode 50 of Zeta Gundam. In both cases, the woman confronting Char requests his help to reform humans into Newtypes under Zabi supporters, which Char refuses, resulting in the woman attempting to shoot him but failing as she is interrupted by the protagonist of the respective series; Char then drags the respective protagonist to safety.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin
- Char joining the development team of Solar Ray mirrors his origin counterpart joining Jaburo Construction Office to learn of the base's weakness.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack
- The somersault-kick GQuuuuuuX delivers to GFred is reminiscent of the move Amuro delivered to Char on the grass field of Londenion.
- Char pulling his hair back is reminiscent of his look in U.C. 0093 look without his scar.
- Kycilia's assumption of Char's desire to purge Earth of humans mirrors his prime counterpart's desire during 0093.
- "BEYOND THE TIME ～Möbius no Sora wo Koete～", the ending song for the film, serves as this episode's ending theme.
Callbacks to GAINAX/Khara titles[]
- The sequence Machu remove the mechanical arm from Rose of Sharon is similar to how the Near Third Impact occur in Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance: upon removing a limiter, the protagonist's unit gained additional power, and they used their bare-hands to reach through a barrier to remove an object (Rei in Evangelion, mechanical arm in GQX)
