Alice Miller (アリス・ミラー Arisu Mira?) is the eponymous character of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team – Miller's Report.
History[]
Background[]
In her past, Alice Miller once showed pity and mercy to a female Zeon pilot, only to get betrayed by her, and giving Alice no choice but to kill her. As a result, Alice harbors deep suspicion and hatred towards those who are traitorous.
One Year War[]
During the later stages of the One Year War, Alice is called in to investigate the 08th Mobile Suit Team for signs of treason and espionage. As she interrogates Ensign Shiro Amada for the charge of espionage and defection, her feelings become even more evident, but Shiro questions her motives with his own beliefs of peace and coexistence.
As the 08th Team prepares for a dangerous mission behind enemy lines, Alice points her gun at Shiro in order to make him confess about being a Zeon spy, but Shiro denies it. Alice then deliberately misses her shot, knowing that there's a big gap between two of them in beliefs, and that nothing will bridge that gap.
0083 Rebellion[]
Following the theft of the RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis" from the Torrington Base by Zeon Remnants in 0083, Alice is dispatched to Australia to investigate the incident and weed out any spies in the Albion's ranks. To that end she boards the ship and joins in the pursuit of the remnants, accompanied by Lieutenant JG Tanya Chermoshanskaya. She questions the members of the Mobile Suit team, including Gundam pilot Kou Uraki. When she turns her attention to the Anaheim Electronics engineers on board, she discovers Nick Orville to be a Zeon spy and captures him.
Miller, aware of the plans and Federation involvement in Operation Stardust, attempted to get Nina and Lucette to leave the Albion, and ordered the Albion to abandon the fight around the colony. Afterwards, Alice went to Jaburo to inform Kowen that the colony drop had not targeted Jaburo.
Alice's contact, O'Sullivan, was murdered and Alice was unable to prove that a conspiracy of Federation officers had collaborated to ensure the success of Operation Stardust.[1]
Her final lead that could connect the conspiracy together was aboard the Jupiter Energy Fleet - Cima Garahau, who had fled with her men and was going by the name "Ephemera Hunt." Cima refused to testify or provide evidence, and fled, leaving Alice unable to prove Bask's guilt. She did inform Alice that Kurena Hacksell had had a secret line to Axis Zeon, and that she replaced the now-dead O'Sullivan. However, Hacksell refused to take her meetings. She returned from Luna to Earth in time to see the founding of the Titans and unable to exonerate the Albion crew.
Instantly concerned about the conspiracy and corruption, Alice met with John Cowen to try to put a case together to slow them down and expose Bask, but Cowen was already stripped of his command. She did possess documentation on the Gundam Development Project, but it was deleted and erased by agents of the Titans. Miller ordered Tanya to get the last piece of evidence on the project - Kou Uraki - before he could be killed or vanished in prison.
