History[]
A skilled engineer, Albert was among the new officers of the peacekeeping organization Compass and was assigned to its new ship, the LHM-BB03S Millennium. Albert had the pleasure of reporting the ship's specs and armaments to Archangel captain Murrue Ramius as the Archangel's crew toured the new ship for its maiden voyage.[1] Albert also made the acquaintance of the Archangel's helmsman, Arnold Neumann, and expressed great curiosity with Neumann's atmospheric "barrel roll-like maneuver".[2][3]. Neumann, however, was intimidated by Albert's forward demands, as well as his pointing out the high risk of failure and the short time Neumann had to make the maneuver. Instead, Neumann replied that he managed to achieve it through guts. This answer was enough to send Heinlein away as he decided to do further research on the role of "guts" for combat.[4]
As part of the Millenium's research crew, Heinlein remained on deck when Commodore Kira Yamato's team was sent down to Earth to respond to an attack by Blue Cosmos remnants on the city of Aldrin. After Kira returned from a successful mission, Heinlein and Kira went back to work on the development of the MDE262S Proud Defender during their voyage to and after arriving at Aprilius One.[5]
During the joint expedition against the Blue Cosmos remnants' leader Michael with the Eurasian Federation and the Kingdom of Foundation, Heinlein and the Millenium were tasked as the rear guard and were kept on standby near the border area of Eldore. The mission went awry when communications with the front line forces, including the Archangel were suddenly cut, and Heinlein and Alexei Konoe ordered Lunamaria Hawke's ZGMF-2025/F GELGOOG Menace to advance with a communication cable and sniper rifle to try and reestablish contact. Knowing that neither the Eurasian Federation nor the Blue Cosmos remnants had such technology to jam their transmissions, Heinlein and Konoe immediately suspected foul play from Foundation's forces.[5]
As Lunamaria attempted to re-establish contact, two of the Eurasian Federation's nuclear missiles were fired in their direction. Though Lunamaria shot down one, she missed the second nuke, and was called back while the Millennium submerged to safety. Following the destruction of Eldore, the Millennium was kept in indefinite detention at Onogoro Island as it was revealed that the chaos at the battlefield apparently started when Kira violated the Eurasian Federation's conditions and invaded their territory. Heinlein conversed with both Konoe and Executive Officer Arthur Trine as they felt that this was more likely a plot by the Foundation to neutralize Compass as a first line of defense.[5]
While awaiting orders, Foundation responded to the destruction of Eldore by using a repaired Requiem to destroy the Eurasian Capital of Moscow. Unable to move without permission, the Millennium remained docked until a group of hijackers infiltrated the ship. Rather than resist the attackers, both Heinlein and Konoe instead greeted them, correctly deducing them to be Kira, Murrue, and the survivors from Eldore. After "surrendering" the ship, Konoe delegated his position as Captain to Ramius while Heinlein hacked into Foundation's system to devise a strategy.[5]
As Lacus was forced to evacuate Eldore on Foundation's royal shuttle, rescuing her was paramount to stop Hari Jagannath's rebellion in ZAFT before he could fully bring the organization into the Foundation's fold. Heinlein's hacking allowed them to watch Requiem's activities and targets, and Heinlein believed that while almost all of Requiem's relay rings were hidden by the Mirage Colloid Stealth System, the first relay ring would always be in a fixed position for it to divert Requiem's beam to the other rings. Because of this, Heinlein proposed destroying the first ring to stall until they could destroy Requiem.[5]
This plan was accepted as the Millennium made its way to space. When Heinlein reported that Requiem was currently targeting the Orb Union's capital Olofat, Kira sent a provoking message to Queen Aura Maha Khyber, threatening to expose the truth of Eldore to turn the world against the Foundation. This was enough for Heinlein to report the target shifting directly to them, allowing the crew to quickly turn the ship to avoid Requiem's attack, exposing the first relay ring's position and buying time until Requiem could recharge.[5]
As soon as the Millennium reached space with other resistance forces, the battle commenced with ZAFT and Foundation forces trying to stall the Millennium's advance. The Millennium's attack, however, was only a feint to help Kira and Athrun Zala's strike team to rescue Lacus from the fortress Artemis. The team successfully extracted Lacus before disabling Artemis' beam barrier generators, forcing Queen Aura to join the battle directly on the BCI-183 Gullveig. With Lacus aiding them and ZAFT loyalists to retake control of the PLANTs, Jagannath's forces collapsed, allowing the Millennium to focus on the Foundation's forces in earnest. Though Jagannath attempted a kamikaze attack using his Burckhardt, this was thwarted by reinforcements from Yzak Joule and Dearka Elsman. In the battle's decisive moments, Heinlein aided both Athrun and Lacus, with the latter piloting the now-completed Proud Defender, to support Kira's ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II before the Millennium directly engaged the Gullveig.[5]
Ultimately, the Millennium triumphed, using the "Goten" Heat Ram to smash into the Gullveig before unloading a long, sustained attack that killed Queen Aura and destroyed her ship. Shortly after, Kira and Lacus defeated and killed Foundation Prime Minister Orphee Lam Tao and Shinn Asuka destroyed Requiem, putting an end to the Foundation Conflict. Heinlein and other Millennium crew members applauded Ramius as she was joined by Mu La Flaga to celebrate their victory.[5]

Notes & Trivia[]
- Albert's voice actor, Jun Fukuyama, previously voiced Sol Ryuune L'ange in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: STARGAZER.
- His name is a reference to sci-fi author Robert A. Heinlein, who wrote the influential sci-fi novel Starship Troopers.
- Seemingly inspired by Spock from Star Trek. Albert serves as the ships Technical Officer and has an emotionless personality purely concerned with ship operations. He frequently performs complex calculations in his head and predicts the precise odds of events occurring.
