Akatsuki (?) is a character that appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS television series.

Personality & Character

Akatsuki is a very energetic and cheeky kid, though he can be quite emotionless like his father. His hair is styled in a manner similar to his father's, with the colors being a darker shade of Atra's hair color.

History

Born after the McGillis Fareed Incident, Akatsuki resided in a small house with a large farm with his mother, Atra. When the Martian Union Chair Person Kudelia Aina Bernstein came to visit, he accidentally bumps into her while playing around with dried out laundry sheets. Kudelia picked him up and asked if he had been a good boy, Akatsuki insisted that he had despite Atra claiming otherwise. Kudelia then walked into the house with Akatsuki in her arms. Later, as Atra prepared tea, Akatsuki gazed upon the group photo of Tekkadan taken in front of the damaged ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus. He ran off to get his tea once Atra said she finished making it.[1]

Notes

  • Atra made a custom bracelet each for Mikazuki, Kudelia, and herself as a way for them to be closer. Akatsuki is seen to be wearing all three, though it is unclear whether the blue one for Mikazuki is the original or a replica.
  • Akatsuki (暁) means "Dawn" in Japanese. This contrasts with his father's name. As dawn is a sun-based phenomenon, while Mikazuki (三日月) stands for "Crescent Moon", a moon-based phenomenon.
  • As he's introduced while the episode's end credits appear, Akatsuki's name and his voice actor are revealed at the same time when his face is revealed.
