Adams Tinel (アダムス・ティネル) is a fictional character of Mobile Suit Gundam AGE.

Personality & Character[]

He is straitlaced and a loyal soldier, prioritizing his duties first and foremost. This places him at odds with the rebellious Grodek Aiona, though he does nonetheless show him respect.

History[]

First Generation (A.G. 115)[]

Adams served the Earth Federation and was stationed at Arinston Base, Nora. He is first seen in the command room when the colony is attacked by the UE. He watches as Flit heads out to battle in the Gundam for the first time, encouraging the young boy, and reacts in shock when he actually defeats a Gafran.[1] The UE would then proceed to attack Nora from the outside, and Adams prepares to get evacuation ships ready. However, Hendrick Bruzar rejects his idea as they don't have enough time to evacuate everyone. Hendrick then devises a plan to evacuate all the inhabitants of the colony of the center core, then have the Diva carry it away in order to allow everyone to escape, and Adams rushes to carry out his orders.

Adams later boards the Diva with other members of the base, and is surprised to find that the crew is absent and that the crew data is missing. Although against protocol, Millais decides that they should launch the ship anyway even if they have to do it themselves due to the urgency of the situation. Grodek Ainoa soon enters and informs the crew that he has been made captain by the Earth Federation Forces, and Tinel confirms this after checking the data.[2]

After the battle, Adams discusses what will happen to the people of Nora with the children and the rest of the crew. He tells Dique Gunhale that the ship is heading to Fardain for resupply. Woolf Enneacle soon enters the room after awakening from his cold sleep and asks what is going on, oblivious to what happened in Nora. Adams attempts to introduce himself and explain, but is cut off as Woolf instead makes passes at Millais. Adams informs him that Grodek is the new captain, and Woolf leaves to speak to him directly. He watches the duel between Flit and Woolf from the cockpit and becomes worried when their signals disappear after they make contact with the UE, urging Grodek to let the Diva go after them.[3]

Adams and Millais watch the battle between the Euba and Zalam forces, and Adams tells her about their conflict. He is shocked to see Flit joining the fray.[4] Adams is later taken aback when Grodek decides to change the ship's course from Tordia to Minsry so that they can attack Ambat alongside Zalam and Euba. He is shocked when he learns that Grodek is not the true captain of the Diva. Everyone other than Adams lend him their support, and he watches in dismay. However, he goes back to his station when enemy forces appear.[5] He calls the Federation for reinforcements behind the crews' back and justifies it when they find out by saying that "A Soldier's job is to protect civilians." He tells Grodek that he will do whatever he thinks is best. He is taken aback when he sees a UE pilot killing an unarmed Zalam pilot in cold-blood. This influences his decision after the battle to fight the UE alongside Grodek. He was relieved when the UE withdrew.[6]

Adams is taken aback when Grodek and the others return from Misry and rush the crew into departing the colony. He soon learns that the Federation is after Grodek, and once Stoller Guavaran establishes a connection with the Diva, Adams tries to convince him to join them in the battle against the UE rather than fighting them. Stoller refuses, citing his orders, leaving Adams distraught. When the UE attack the Federation from behind he wants to help them, but has no answer for Ract Elfamel who tells him that the Federation are also the enemy. Thankfully, Grodek agrees with Adams and they back up the Federation.[7]

Adams works tirelessly as the Diva heads towards Ambat, looking at a picture of his mother in a locket and resolving to go on a trip with her after he returns from the battle.[8] He infiltrates Ambat with Grodek and Millais as they aim to take over the control room and open the way to the reactor so that Flit can destroy it. After reaching the command room, he is shocked to learn that the UE are also human and listens to Geera Zoi as he tells them about the Vagan. After Geera's death, Adams returns to the Diva as the base is destroyed. He questions if the war will continue, still taken aback by his discovery.[9]
