Template:Infobox/Mobile Weapon Ver.2 The ASW-G-66 Gundam Vidar is a mobile suit from the second season of the Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS television series. The unit is primary piloted by Vidar.
Design & Development
The Gundam Vidar is a modified version of the Gundam Kimaris Trooper after it had been heavily damaged during its fight with the Grimgerde in Edmonton. After the battle, its frame was salvaged and given an overhaul, converting it into the Gundam Vidar. The mobile suit's performance has been enhanced and it has an additional third Ahab Reactor equipped on its back, concealing its original identity.
Armaments
- Rapier
- A slim, agile sword designed for thrusting that acts as Vidar's primary close-combat weapon. The blade can be disconnected from the hilt in the event that it becomes entangled.
- Rifle
- A standard battle-rifle for long-range engagements.
- Duel Pistols
- Two small caliber, rapid fire pistols located in the front skirt of the suit.
Equipment
- Blade Skirt Containers
- Vidar possesses two containers located on both hips that carry spare blades for its Rapier. Each container contains three blades, giving Vidar a total of six blades.
Operational History
The Gundam Vidar is first deployed in 325 P.D after a lengthy period of repair and maintence. It first sees action against rebel forces of the Oceanian Federation.
Notes & Trivia
- Unlike other Gundams in the Post Disaster timeline, Gundam is not named after a Demon in the Ars Goetia, but is instead named for the Æsir god of revenge from Norse mythology.
- On radar, the unit's Ahab Wave frequency is listed simply as 'Gjallarhorn Unit No.21'.
