The ASW-G-08A Gundam Amazing Barbatos Lupus (ガンダムアメイジングバルバトスルプス Gandamu Ameijingu Barubatosu Rupusu?) is a Gunpla appearing in Gundam Build Metaverse. It is built and piloted by Meijin Kawaguchi III.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

An even more savage iteration of the Gundam Barbatos Lupus, the Gunpla's primary customizations include a reinforced frame, more lightweight armor plating, and improved response times. Though modified using relatively standard methods, Meijin's expertise gained through his long-running tenure in Gunpla fights allowed him to eke out every ounce of power from the kit, making its armor as lean as possible, and bring out its abilities to a frankly absurd level, achieving the kind of build that any normal builder can only dream of. The armaments weren't compromised either, as it features brand new weaponry to suit Meijin's combat style. Finally, it adopts a crimson color scheme, donning it with the moniker of "Amazing".[1]

Armaments[]

  • Amazing Mace
The kit's large-scale primary weapon. Taking the original Gundam Barbatos' characteristic Mace as a motif, the weapon retains its predecessor's toughness while also featuring a newly outfitted internal autocannon that, thanks to its adjustable foregrip, can be used with high precision.[1]
  • Amazing Iron Blood
A launcher-type weapon comprised of the Amazing Mace combined with the Amazing Booster Ten-shiki. The Mace is able to shoot high-energy beams from its barrel using the energy supply system housed in the Booster, and can also use electromagnetic force to fire the Mace itself for performing its devastating, high-speed finisher move.[1]
  • Superhard Wire Blade
A wired blade mounted on the Amazing Booster Ten-shiki. It can be used in Dai-jyu Form.

Special Equipment and Features[]

  • Amazing Booster Ten-shiki
A reinforcement unit attached to the suit that takes the shape of a large bird. Equipped with a Superhard Wire Blade, it can also be used as a standalone support mech. Meijin poured all of his avarice for the strength of mobile armors - the Gundams' ultimate nemesis - into the unit's design.[1]
  • Dai-ku Form
The combined form of the Gundam Amazing Barbatos Lupus and the Amazing Booster Ten-shiki. Considering the Barbatos Lupus as the mobile suit's 7th Form and the core Amazing Barbatos Lupus the 8th Form, Meijin considers the combination the 9th Form (Ku being the Japanese word for nine and kanji for crimson). This form improves the unit's mobility to unparalleled levels, allowing it to perform maneuvers such that it gained the title of "the Crimson Comet".[1]
  • Dai-jyu Form
The form where the claws of the Amazing Booster Ten-shiki are equipped onto the Amazing Barbatos Lupus' arms. While the name serves to indicate the Barbatos' 10th Form, it also uses the Japanese homonym for the word "Beast" to suggest its miraculously ferocious power and overall prowess in melee combat. However, due to its extraordinarily high energy output, it is a trump card that the pilot must play only at the most critical moments.[1]

Variants[]

  • ASW-G-08A Gundam Amazing Barbatos Lupus [Metallic]
After an idol group that hoped to bring the world of plastic model kits to their fans and everyone around the world caught his attention, Meijin decided to give his Gunpla a metallic coating and turn it into a collaborative effort with the group, further promoting Gunpla and the ideas of "Gunpla is Freedom" and "Freedom is Gunpla".[1]

History[]

The Gundam Amazing Barbatos Lupus was built by Meijin Kawaguchi III. It is displayed as part of a commemorative statue in the Gundam Metaverse Project, alongside the Gundam 00 Command Qan[T] Desert Type. While watching the 200 vs 200 battle, Meijin decided to join in with the Amazing Barbatos Lupus, only to run into Sei Iori in his Build Strike Exceed Galaxy. The two then proceeded to battle each other to settle a past score, until Reiji joined in to assist Sei in the Star Burning Gundam. After some time, Kyoya Kujo also interrupts the battle in the Try Age Gundam, challenging Meijin to a duel, before the two headed off to battle elsewhere on the field.
