The The AMX-001 Gaza-A is a mass-production construction mobile pod featured in the manga Advance of Zeta Re-Boot: Gundam Inle.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

After their defeat in the One Year War, the Dozle Zabi faction of Zeon Remnants—later known as Axis Zeon—retreated to the asteroid belt, where they began developing work-use mobile suits to support the maintenance and expansion of their asteroid bases, Axis and Moussa, while also rebuilding their military strength. This led to the creation of the Gaza Type. Facing resource constraints, Axis imposed strict development conditions: the mobile suit had to be rugged, low-cost, and easily mass-produced. To meet these demands, the development team used the MP-02A Oggo—a mobile pod deployed under similar conditions during the final stages of the war—as a reference design.[1]

The Gaza Type adopted an exposed mono-eye sensor, and incorporated shield-like binders on both shoulders to protect the drum frames, a structural element inherited from the Oggo. Its claw arms were enlarged to improve work efficiency and also functioned as legs in mobile armor (MA) mode. Overall, the design marked an evolution from the Oggo, which was hastily assembled in wartime; every part was upgraded to better match Axis’s postwar needs.[1]

Eventually, the Gaza Type led to the development of additional prototypes, including humanoid variants. These prototypes were integrated and culminated in the Gaza-C and subsequent Gaza-D models—transformable mobile suits with full combat capabilities. Because of this lineage, the original Gaza Type shares a silhouette closely resembling the MA modes of the later AMX-003 Gaza-C and AMX-006 Gaza-D.[1]

History[]

After losing the OYW, a large number of the Principalities soldiers and civilians would flee to the a mining asteroid Axis. With a growing population of 30,000 and many not wanting to give up the war for independence the forces of Axis focused their energy on converting Axis, originally a resource mine, into a military fortress and build a living quarters for civilians. To this end the engineers would develop the Gaza-A, which would be the first of the Gaza-type mobile suits. Since Axis Zeon was low on valuable resources at the time. The engineers would be requested the Gaza-A to be cheap and easy to manufacture and have a simple design. In order to meet this requirement, the development team used the MP-02A Oggo as the design base. The claws on both arms are enlarged in order to improve work efficiency, and as a result, they also function as legs. Later the Gaza-A would be used in many mobile suit experiments to create zeons next mainstay mobile suit.
