The A-GXQ754/V2 Zeus Silhouette is a support Mobile Armor introduced in the animated film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
An unmanned mobile armor originally developed by ZAFT for the ZGMF-X42S Destiny, providing additional mobility and firepower when combined with its designated mobile suit. It was designed to destroy heavily fortified high-value targets, such as important government bunkers, battleships, and large superweapons.
It separates into four different components that can combine with the Destiny. The first and most integral component is a large linear cannon wielded on the right arm, which has immense firepower capable of destroying battleships and superweapon installations at range in a single shot. The length of the weapon necessitates that its barrel must be manually attached to the weapon before use, and once the barrel is worn out from the power of the weapon's shots it can be ejected to be disposed of.
The second component is the main backpack that adds extra chest and rear armor to the Destiny, and also includes a radome and sensor array with integrated missile launchers that attach to the Destiny's left backpack weapon mount, while the right backpack weapon mount houses a rack containing two spare barrels for the linear cannon. Finally, two large booster assemblies are added to the Destiny's legs to enhance its speed and mobility to compensate for the increased weight of the Zeus' heavy weapon systems. Because the Zeus Silhouette occupies both of the Destiny's backpack weapon mounts, both the M2000GX long-range beam cannon and the Arondight anti-ship sword have to be discarded before docking, leaving the linear cannon as the Destiny's only offensive weapon.
The Zeus Silhouette can also be equipped by the ORB-01 Akatsuki, although the makeshift nature of its use, and its lack of a nuclear reactor means the Akatsuki cannot use the Zeus Silhouette to its fullest potential, as it can only fire the weapon once.
Armaments[]
- Large Linear Cannon
- The main component of the Zeus Silhouette, this linear cannon fires large-caliber physical rounds at extremely high velocities, giving it the ability to destroy most armored targets and even superweapons in a single shot. The cannon's large size requires that the weapon's barrel be joined to the main gun assembly by the mobile suit manually before firing. The linear cannon's power deals immense damage to the barrel, thus the barrel has to be ejected after each shot, and for this reason the Zeus Silhouette carries two additional spare barrels, limiting it to three shots per sortie. The linear cannon is attached to the backpack via a jointed arm which carries most of the weapon's weight and stabilizes it during firing.
- The equipped mobile suit's shield can be attached to the side of the linear cannon to prevent interference during firing.
- Missile Launchers
- The Zeus Silhouette is equipped with multiple missile launchers for defense: Two large launchers carrying four large missiles each, and sixty small missile launchers are attached to the radome assembly. Additionally, two 4-tube missile launchers can also be found on each leg booster, giving the Zeus Silhouette a total of 144 missiles.
Special Equipment & Features[]
History[]
The Zeus Silhouette was originally developed during the Second Alliance-PLANT War alongside the ZGMF-X42S Destiny as a bunker buster weapon, able to penetrate and destroy heavily fortified facilities like the Orb Union's command centers. However, the Silhouette Pack was never used during the conflict either due to conflict being over when it was completed or complications during the testing stages.
In C.E. 75 during the Foundation Conflict, the Zeus Silhouette was first used by the ORB-01 Akatsuki piloted by Mu La Flaga to destroy a Mirage Colloid-cloaked relay ring stationed above the Requiem strategic weapon. The Zeus Silhouette was then passed over to Shinn Asuka's ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Spec II to destroy the Requiem for good.[1]

- In the movie, a ruined Zeus Silhouette can be seen in the background during the flashback scene showing a NOG-M4F Rud-ro.A fighting the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam.
- The Zeus Silhouette's auto-flight and docking capabilities are similar to the PFF-X7 Core Gundam's PLANETS armors.
