History[]
Wistario Afam first encounters 598 when he takes the Gundam Hajiroboshi out to assist a Teiwaz-affiliated merchant vessel whose Hakugo escorts were being overwhelmed by three pirate Monkey Rodis, piloted by 598, 368 and 229. 368 attempts to intercept the Hajiroboshi first, but quickly needs to be assisted by 598. 598 manages to put up a better fight than his ally, but is still pushed back by the Gundam. Furious at being called a pirate for attacking a merchant ship, 598 insists they will be just like Tekkadan one day. Hearing his young voice, Wistario realizes he is fighting a Human Debris child soldier, but continues to berate 598 over their piracy, which he considers beneath Tekkadan. 598 is told to return by his owner, Kimball so he disperses smoke with a grenade to escape.
A few days later Kimball's battleship heads to Radonitsa Colony with the stolen merchandise, where they find a prospective buyer, which happens to be Afam Equipment. 598 and his two wingmen accompany Kimball to the meeting in a bar in Radonitsa's business district, where he treats them to a decent meal. Kimball demands double the market price for the coating material, so Wistario requests to test a sample, but ultimately still refuses to pay the asking price because he figured out that it was stolen from the Teiwaz merchants after he heard 598 speak. Wistario cuts a deal to buy it for 20% of the market value, and Kimball sends 598 to transport it to Afam's dock.
While off-loading, Wistario again asks 598 how he could be a pirate but claim to aspire to be like Tekkadan. 598 realizes Wistario is the three-pronged mobile suit's pilot, but their argument is cut short when Wistario's Urdr-Hunt ring activates. 598 recognizes the ring as similar to one he found, but gave to Kimball. Wistario calls him stupid for doing so, as the funds for the Urdr-Hunt are enormous. 598 calls him a liar, but Coronal Xhosa backs up Wistario's statements, telling him that, if it truly was an Urdr-Hunt ring, than a guide should have presented herself, and that she could confirm his words for him.
Returning to Kimball's battleship, 598 tells Kimball that Wistario was the one who tried to stop them the other day. Kimball tries to reassure 598 that following his orders will get them to be like Tekkadan, and starts to devise a way to get back at Wistario. 598 finds Palstye Xhosa in the battleship's hallways, and asks her about the money connected to the ring. She confirms the information, and 598 is conflicted. Palstye shows him a video feed from the back of the ship, which holds human cargo that Kimball was going to sell as Human Debris. 598 is shocked that Kimball would do that. Kimball finds them and 598 tries to run, and Kimball shoots him in the arm as he escapes.
Members of the Dawn Horizon Corps, led members of the personal guard of their captain, show up soon afterwards and demand Kimball return to the main fleet, but Kimball's Human Debris have begun to desert on a small ship with the three Monkey Rodis. Kimball sorties in his personal IPP-66305 Hugo and activates a killswitch to deactivate the Human Debris's ability to control their mobile suits, leaving them defenseless, but they are saved by Wistario Afam in the Gundam Hajiroboshi. 598 tries to use the Alaya-Vijnana System to control his Monkey Rodi and joins Wistario in battling the Dawn Horizon Corps, and they kill Kimball. 598 and his team engage in a final act of piracy, taking control of the armored battleship which belonged to Kimball, and freeing the 21 people held in the rear.
Freed, Palstye gives the ring to 598, making him a participant in the Urdr-Hunt. He vows to win it, and to build a place for people like himself.

Notes & Trivia[]
- In Japanese, the number "98" is sometimes pronounced "Kyuppa" (キュッパ), especially as it regards to a low-cost product's sales price, which often end in 98¥ to make them seem like a better value. By pronouncing 598 as "Gōkyuppa" the intent may be to make him seem as more of a commodity than a person, underscoring his "Human Debris" background.
