"Pillbox" Anti-Air Turret

The "Pillbox" Anti-Air Turret is a defensive weapon introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

The "Pillbox" functions as a fixed anti-air turret capable of being used both on Earth and in space. The tower is able to switch the gun its uses depending on the ammunition. Such variants include a 75mm Vulcan Gun and Gatling gun.

History[]

First Alliance-PLANT War[]

Multiple "Pillbox" turrets were emplaced around JOSH-A, Alaska as part of the base's anti-air defense. They were put into use to defend the base against invading ZAFT mobile suit during Operation Spitbreak.^[1]

Second Alliance-PLANT War[]

"Pillbox" turrets continued to be used defense of Earth Alliance Bases, and were positioned both on Earth at the Indian Ocean Base,^[2] and on the Moon around the Daedalus Lunar Base, where they were used to defend the base during the Battle of Daedalus.^[3]
