I mean. Build Divers almost was that, so I guess it’s not totally impossible. But sword art online is the odd piece to this puzzle, just cuz it doesn’t have Mecha
Yeah sure it could. Gundam Build Diver already set the precedent of a Gundam series with a VR game.
Battle styles wouldn't be too out of place either, especially since you already have Gundam series like IBO who have a larger focus on close combat which would fit very well with some of the Sword Art Online in-universe VR games, especially "Sword Art Online" game from Season 1, which had no magic spells. And swords/melee are fairly common in Gundam metaseries in general.
The people from SAO universe are playing an avatar in the virtual world anyways usually with UI elements easily accessible (not unlike a mecha cockpit). It's not much of a difference than to put them in a mecha assuming you can direct their body control to the mecha directly. Settings wise, the most likely scenario would be a VR game presumably in the or a similar to Build Diver.
Pre-Build, it would seem weird to see these two crossover, Post Build however I think I see a lot of potential in the concept given how Gundam had expanded it's horizons.
Depends on which timeline, Build Divers I can totally see that happening. Build Fighters is iffy, since it's more like Beyblade or Yu-Gi-Oh, but it could work.
I liked season 1-2 actually (minus the insist of course) reminded me a lot of seed.
I mostly liked season 1 for the concept. Bit of a downhill from there. Although I get some saying the downhill starts after season 2
Well, it was one scene in particular. That final fight against evil guy in the real world put some entire Gundam series to shame in terms of tension. I'm looking at you g reco.
Aw man we don’t even have the final G Reco movie. I will admit the original didn’t have it too great, but I’m mostly gonna blame the story and pacing for not setting it up at all.
Anyways. I’m not gonna compare SAO and G Reco cuz that’s way too different
@Von Tetra Movie was pretty good too, I watched it 25 times in the cinema a few years back. My favourite song and battle from the series (of I've watched) is from that entry.
Don't have an opinion on anything after that since I haven't gotten to it yet.
IMO, the movie was SAO perfected
Tbh, I could see the Newtype system from Gundam and the Fluctlights/Incarnation system from SAO meshing together really well. Imagine some BS like Kirito becoming the first Newtype due to that spirit bomb he pulled in WoU.
What do you think?
