Is New Gundam Breakers wroth buying??
I like how it’s like the build series in a way
I also like how you can equip parts during battle
The only thing I don’t like is that if you wanna buy a part you need a lot of GP
See that's one of the issues amongst the many that I had. If I build a suit I want to use that suit.
I bought it day one it has a few minor bugs but ultimately YES BUT IT
You can use the suit in Set up mode you have multi slots for suits change name equipment etc. It Is easier to just get parts via destroying however the GO is way to high in certain suits but still earn GP fast one final mission and DLC mission.
As for the first comment on here, sorry but your way off. NGB may not have GB2 story quality. However it has musou battle style and better customization. You guys need to play with it a bit more
That's your opinion, I've put numerous hours into all 4 games of the GB franchise and I can say without a doubt that the combat is a weak part of NGB, not as clunky as GB1 but very close. The customization is almost exactly the same minus the decal system, the fact that you get one more builder slot than in GB3 and the fact you cant customize the position of your sheild. As I stated in my previous comments with others on this thread, if you like the game, good on ya. But I feel it does not capture the meaning of the previous entries as a whole. The issues that will start cropping up will be mostly in the multilayer mode, you wont see anyone using suits they want to use. Only suits that will be the best, ie the meta. This was an extremely prevalent issue in GB2 when you could be kicked from a room for not having the meta from that game. GB3 negated that mentality when they added the customizable stat system, which allowed player to make whatever they wanted, still have it as a viable build and still be useful in terms of battle.
I by no means hate the game. Although at it's current state, even with the feature updates that they will be pushing (features that should have been in at launch)I do not find myself recommending the game to anyone , nor will I invest any money into the game when the inevitable GP microtransactions come out(let's be honest the fact that it costs 100k GP for a single part is a bit fishy)
Numerous things that they overlooked just drives the fact that the game was rushed to release with no QC. The most popular one being the inverted funnels(how do you overlook mechanic like that) and smaller things like alot of the weapons missing their sound effect or having incorrect sfx.
I cant bash the game for not looking good however. But looks only get you so far if your other mechanics are not as polished. I can also overlook the poor roster seeing as they have to balance over 300 different units consisting of up to 5 parts each, which is very understandable.
Going back to the fighting aspect. The fighting feels like they took 2 steps backwards from the very fluid combat of GB3, which allowed you to effortlessly move across the battlefield and combo moves together. I recall going from GB2's great combat system to GB3 when the game came out thinking that it couldn't get any better, and to my surprise it got even better(I had some issues with the new dodge mechanics but that was it). I went into NGB with the same mentality and was truly disappointed. Sure I got used to it. But it just feels like its fighting you all the way.
Anyways this has gone on long enough. I will close out by saying if they do end up fixing a majority of the issues that the community has brought up I will retract my statements and actually recommend the game to people. But as it stands, you will get more enjoyment with GB3 that you will with NGB.
Remember these are nothing but opinions.
I would say that you have 1. Made some good points and 2. I agree not everything is perfect, however the game is not as bad as you make it seem as it's great in its own way. There is a lot more they could have poured into it and made better and some things need to be changed agreed but overall as someone who has a minimum of 800 hours each game (not NUB yet) I can say that it's still a new game and they are doing things we don't know about yet like the DOC missions giving multiple mobile suits instead of buying via DLC. I agree with most of your statements a few I disagree as far as customization. But it's still a must get game. 1st one to come to the USA is a big deal.
Nah man, I truly want to love this game, but with all the glaring flaws that I have seen it really takes me out of the entire vibe. As I stated before my main urk is the combat. The fact that you can get juggled with little to no chance of being able to recover and evade out of the stunlock is what is getting me the most frustrated. I can overlook alot of things. But that is just annoying, I really hope they fix that mechanic. Same with the dodge. It feels like it only wants to work when it wants to. Now I'm not saying to make it like GB3 where you can dodge like a mofo, but make it to where the controls are more responsive.
What do you think?
