If you could change or add anything in the Universal Century from The Origin to Victory, what would it be?

I haven't decided whether or not I want to write retooled Gundam stories, but I am considering it slightly seriously. I've been exchanging talks on fanfiction.net with User: Wing Zero Alpha about potential ideas, and I thought it would be okay if you guys can help give me some advice on how I should do a Mobile Suit Gundam 2.0 as WZA described it. Be advised I won't spoil everything much less put everything you've advised into what I may or may not one day write.

A few ideas I've been having were changing a few names and terms like Spacenoid, making the Zabi family among other characters a little less chaotic, lowering things like the "Bright Slap" among other things, adding some acronyms for organizations like the Titans and portmanteaus used to describe things such as the merging of "zenith" and "unionism", and changing the real world timeline to make it look like the Universal Century starts later rather than sooner. That last part might work in an alternate history such as Terminator and Star Trek, but I'm not so sure from a present day point of view.

Thoughts, anyone? And please try to be understanding with everyone on here and on my similar journal entry on DeviantArt. On this. Got another similar thread about retools for Dragon Ball.

I think I would add:

Seeing more Titan members defect after Darkar

Seeing if the Albion Crew members defercted from the Titans or at least learning if they survied the Grysp War

More Female Gundam Pilots

More of Londo Bell

I admit that I'd probably also write Hathaway out of existence. I've never liked him as a character.

However, I am curious enough to want to watch the eventual anime movie adaptation of Hathaway's Flash.

...Or maybe I just badly want a MG 1/100 model kit of the Me-02R Messer. There's just something about that mobile suit's pseudo-Zeonic design that I really like.

I'm probably necroing a long since dead thread. But wouldn't it make sense to organize these ideas on some sort of collaborative platform? Somewhat solidify the ideas, and making genuine action towards this idea easier?

Not necessarily, it just seemed that OP was attempting to incite a brainstorming session of sorts. Thus, organizing the ideas on a collaborative document of sorts would enable them (and potential other's) to pursue such a thing.

I have no stake in this myself, as I have a few pet projects going on as of now. I Merely wanted to point something out.

Again, I do apologize for the necro, if any moderators wish to carry out corrective action, they are within the right to do so.

Only thing I'd change is having Birknau see combat in the events of Victory, maybe have Baund Doc unit 3 in its proper space camou colors which the animation team on the penultimate episode of Zeta kind of just forgot about.

Just coming back here (nearly 4 years later) to note my continued interest in this; and we still don't know details on the live-action Gundam film by Legendary Pictures/Netflix (maybe that'll be set in the U.C.?)

Shrug. From what I heard from other sources, it is pretty much in development hell right now, sorry to say. Though I am sure, we will eventually get something from it, as there has been too much stuff done for it and everything for it to just die. So we may get it a few years down the line. Or it may become like the Gundam SEED Movie and be a couple of decades before it gets going. Shrug. Either way, we eventually will get a live-action Gundam movie. Though I wouldn't be surprised if we get a live-action Macross movie before we get a Gundam live-action movie. As Macross, as far as I know, doesn't have the baggage of an earlier live-action project making things difficult.

What do you think?
