Universal Century (Uchuu Seiki, comúnmente abreviado como UC) (en español: Siglo Universal) es una de las líneas temporales de la metaserie de anime Gundam.
La Universal Century inicia después de que la humanidad empezara a poblar el espacio, después de que la construcción del grupo de colonias espaciales en Side 1 fuera completada.
Ha sido la línea temporal primaria de Gundam, a pesar de que solo ocho de los 17 proyectos de animación o live-action lanzados desde 1995 han sido estrictamente puestos en esta línea temporal.
La ciencia de Universal Century es práctica y hace uso de la ciencia real incluyendo los Puntos Lagrange en el espacio, el Cilindro O'Neill como ambiente vital, y la producción de energía a partir de Helio-3 (llamado Física Minovsky).

Del 1º de Enero del año 0079 U.C. al 1º de Enero del año 0080 U.C. tuvo lugar el más sangriento conflicto bélico de la historia que la humanidad recuerde. La Guerra de un Año le costó la vida a la mitad de la población de la Tierra y trajo consigo numerosas consecuencias.
